York Adult Ed

Reading and Writing Skills for Success in College
Are you ready for the rigors of college reading and writing? This course will help you prepare to transition from high school to college, go back to school, or make the leap between home-school and the college classroom. Learn how to remember what you read and how to get the most from complex college textbooks. Learn how to generate and express ideas through writing as well as how to refine your grammar skills and polish your writing style. This course is hands-on and tailored to individual students needs. In addition to sharpening reading and writing skills, students will be able to get a jump start on college-level academics with an introduction to college-level research; information technology; preparing for and taking essay-based tests; and how to prepare for and participate in class discussions.
