Have you ever been overwhelmed looking for specific item on E-Bay? This class will go over the basics of buying and selling items on E-Bay. Learn what is needed to create an E-Bay account, a seller’s account, and how to bid on items for sale. We will also put an item up for sale together. CONTINUING ON EBAY Have you taken the first E-bay class, but still haven’t gotten around to selling your item? This is the class for you! This three-week class will allow you to create a seller’s account and actually list your item for sale on E-bay. We will also walk through the steps to take after your item sells. Please come prepared to the first class with a valid e-mail address, with your password, and also a credit card number and checking account number to create an account. Please bring a small, non-expensive item to class to use for your listing. PLAN YOUR VACATION USING THE INTERNET Have you heard of Expedia, Orbitz, or CheepTickets.com? Would you like to research and travel to a new place without having to pay a travel agent? Then this class is for you. We will discuss the different ways to purchase airline tickets using the Internet, learn how to compare prices for hotels, car rentals, and activities. We will also talk about how to take advantage of those great Internet travel deals. A working knowledge of the Internet and e-mail is required. COMPUTER QUESTION & ANSWER LAB Location: York Middle School - Adult Ed. Classroom You may have taken some computer classes already, but you still have questions or there are things that you just can’t remember how to do. This three-week course will allow you the time to work on your own computer skills in a comfortable lab setting. Amanda will be there to assist with any area that you need help in, but you will design the content of the class based on your own computer needs. The class size will be kept small so we will all be able to learn from each other. Come prepared with questions and/or projects to work on. PROTECT YOUR COMPUTER The Internet can be a scary place. We all need to know how to protect our computers and ourselves. This class will discuss the difference between an anti-virus program and a firewall and why you need one or the other or both. We will also talk about the importance of updating your software programs and Microsoft Windows, how to stop those pesky pop-up adds, how to get rid of spyware, and how to avoid e-mail scams. Come with questions and problems and a notebook to write answers. A working knowledge of the Internet and e-mail will be helpful. WEBSITE IN A DAY Create a free website using GoogleSites! Learn all the basics of web design while having tons of fun. This is a great opportunity to create a family site to share with friends, but it’s also great for coaches, teams, etc. These sites don’t show up on search engines, so you can learn without a worldwide audience! Bring your photos, ideas, etc. and leave with a working website! INTRODUCTION TO QUICKBOOKS Quickbooks Simple Start 2008 is a free financial management software package. In this class, we will review basic financial management concepts, learn how to set up a company in Quickbooks, record daily transactions, backup data, generate financial reports and more. BEGINNERS PHOTO EDITING New! For students who are new to the computer tools for digital photography and want to learn photo editing techniques. This class will feature a hands on approach to working with a computer to make digital photography corrections with Photoshop, or similar photo editing software. The class will include establishing a workflow, data management, photo editing basics, printing and electronic distribution. The course will include a series of computer exercises and demonstrations. Dan Splaine has been a working professional photographer for 30 years. His career foundation is based in traditional film photography which has now evolved into a digital photography operation. In addition to working on editorial, public relations and consumer photography assignments he has over five years experience as a photography instructor.
