York Adult EdCERTIFIED NURSING ASSISTANT PROGRAM

The CNA course consists of at least 150 hours, including classroom instruction, lab and clinical experience in area health facilities. The Maine State Board of Nursing curriculum is used for this training program. Upon successful completion of this program and subsequent to an evaluation of competency through testing (State CNA examination) the nursing assistant will be issued a Standardized Certificate of Training by the Maine Dept. of Education. Admission requirements: High School Diploma or GED; one personal reference; one professional (work) reference; demonstrated ability to read and write in English (a reading comprehension test will be administered at time of interview).
